The website is to an IM marketer as a store is to the offline business. This is where you begin your serious relationship building efforts. You know how important it is to have a good website. But the site is only a one one part of the overall marketing process. Another must have is targeted traffic, and you can’t get by without it. Quite obviously, if no one knows it’s there… who’ll buy all your great stuff?
Press releases are powerful, if done right. Distributing press releases is so easy, the web is filled with sites for that purpose. If you research it, you’ll find free sites and paid release distribution sites. If the product is high quality, and your release is well-written, you could get picked-up by media outlets. If you’re lucky enough to have that happen, your site’s traffic could jump several levels in a day. Of course if your site converts, you could get hundreds of sales very quickly.
So, ok… you can produce articles in your market and submit to directories and other places. And do not forget your link(s) in the article bio box at the bottom of the article. You want to submit your articles to as many directories as possible. Article directories like to have unique content, some moreso than others, so be careful about what you submit and to whom. If you’re not careful about this you may find yourself getting banned from some directories. But, if you write a handful of new articles every week and use a good content spinning program, you’ll get around this problem. The more content you put out there, people will become more aware of you and your traffic will increase.
Do some research and locate some of the better newsletters within your market. Then, politely ask if you can submit some content to their newsletters. In exchange for no payment, you just want the exposure by including your website somewhere in the article. If you write good articles, with good information, you’ll see that many newsletters publishers will let you do this. And if it all goes well, you could end up with a good writing gig.
You’ll find there are many methods for traffic generation. But generally speaking, it’s usually a never-ending process. You need to spend time every day building links to your site and encouraging people to check out what you are selling. With so much variety, hopefully it won’t need to be a boring task. So maybe just think in terms of the money those efforts will bring you.
